Are you ready to start another Dive Adventure that will take you deeper into the Aquatic World? Join us and get your Advanced Open Water Certification with the Advanced Open Water Diver Course. This course ‘Advances’ your skill development, increases your knowledge of scuba diving, and makes you far more confident in your abilities, both in and out of the water.
The Advanced Open Water Diver course consists of two parts:
- Knowledge Development: The Advanced Open Water Course teaches the basic principles and skills for Advanced Scuba Diving using Independent Study and Knowledge Reviews.
- Open Water Dives (Ocean): Consists of five open water dives over the course of 2-3 individual days.

- Digital Underwater Photography
- Fish Identification
- Night Diving
- Peak Performance Buoyancy
- Search & Recovery

- Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV) Diving
- Drift Diving

- Enriched Air Nitrox Diving

Basic Requirements
- Open Water Diver Certification (a qualifying certification from such internationally recognised organizaions such as SSI, NAUI, etc.).
- Minimum age: 15 years of age, (12 years of age for Junior Advanced Open Water Diver).
What Is Included, and How Many Students in Each Class
The Advanced Open Water Diver Course includes All Rental Gear, Pool Costs, Tank Refills, Log Book, and Certification Card.
Students Per Class
- Group Classes: 6–8 Students.
- Semi-Private Classes: Up to 5 Students. See Note 1 below regarding individuals put together with a Semi-Private Class.
- Private Classes: 1 or 2 Students Only. Private Classes are for individuals, couples, or siblings that desire to be taught in a more personal environment.
Note 1: For our customers who are coming to us as individuals and do not necessarily desire a "Private Class," we will put you together with other students to constitute a Semi-Private Class, which is up to 5 students. So, you will come as an individual, yet be put together with a semi-private class and pay only the semi-private class rate.
Note 2: Study materials are not included in the price.
Cost
- Group Classes (6-8 Students): $685.00 per individual.
- Semi-Private Classes (Up to 5 Students): $785.00 per individual. See Note 1 below regarding individuals put together with a Semi-Private Class.
- Private Classes (1 or 2 Students Only): $1,085.00 per individual, for one or two individuals per class. Private Classes are for individuals, couples, or siblings who desire to be taught in a more personal environment.
Note 1: For our customers who are coming to us as individuals and do not necessarily desire a "Private Class," we will put you together with other students to constitute a Semi-Private Class, which is up to 5 students. So, you will come as an individual, yet be put together with a semi-private class and pay only the semi-private class rate.
Note 2: Study materials are not included in the price.
Duration (Approximately 10-15 hours. This does not include independent study)
- Knowledge Development: Consists of Independent Study, and Knowledge Reviews.
- Open Water: Consists of five Ocean dives. The duration of these five dives takes approximately 2-3 individual days. The days can be consecutive back to back days, or over the course of a few of weeks, depending on scheduling and/or diving conditions.

- Open Water (Location depends on ocean conditions).
- La Jolla Shores, San Diego California.
- La Jolla Cove, San Diego California.
- Mission Point Park, San Diego California.
Advance Booking Required
- 7 Days in advance.
Payment Requirements
- Full Payment is required before the scheduled course. We will give priority to the student(s) on a first come (or pay), first serve basis. So whoever pays first will get scheduled on the requested dates.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
- Classes are fully refundable 72 hours prior to the class start date.
- Classes cancelled within 72 hours of the class start date will incur a $300.00 fee.
- Classes rescheduled by the student within 72 hours of the class start date will incur a $200.00 fee.
- There are NO REFUNDS if:
- The class has begun.
- Clients(s) decide to cancel or quit BEFORE course is entity completed. We will give youa referral form on what was completed up until the time of cancellation.
- Clients(s) do not show up to the dive appointment without any proper notice.
**NOTE: ** San Diego Scuba Pros will give every reasonable consideration to unforeseen events, such as family emergencies, illness, accidents, and similar circumstances. Partial refunds and/or rescheduling options may be available. Cancellation fees may also apply, depending on the nature and severity of the event.
