Are you ready to start another Dive Adventure that will take you deeper into the Aquatic World? Join us and get your Advanced Open Water Certification with the Advanced Open Water Diver Course. This course ‘Advances’ your skill development, increases your knowledge of scuba diving, and makes you far more confident in your abilities, both in and out of the water.
The Advanced Open Water Diver course consists of two parts:
- Knowledge Development: The Advanced Open Water Course teaches the basic principles and skills for Advanced Scuba Diving using Independent Study and Knowledge Reviews.
- Open Water Dives (Ocean): Consists of five open water dives over the course of 2-3 individual days.
- Required Specialties:
- Deep Diving (60-100 feet maximum)

- Common Specialties (Choose 3):
- Boat Diving
- Digital Underwater Photography
- Fish Identification
- Night Diving
- Peak Performance Buoyancy
- Search & Recovery
- Underwater Naturalist
- Wreck Diving
- Not So Common Specialties (Soon To Come):
- Altitude
- Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV) Diving
- Drift Diving
- Dry Suit Diving
- Enriched Air Nitrox Diving
- Self Reliant Diving
- Sidemount Diving

Basic Requirements
- Open Water Diver Certification (a qualifying certification from such internationally recognised organizaions such as SSI, NAUI, etc.).
- Minimum age: 15 years of age, (12 years of age for Junior Advanced Open Water Diver).
What Is Included. How Many People.
- The Advanced Open Water Scuba Certification Course includes the Tuition, all Scuba Equipment, and Certification Card (PIC).
- Classes are held as Small Group (4-6 Divers), Semi-Private (2-3 Divers), and Private (1 Diver).
- Note: Study Materials are not included in the price.
Cost for Group, Semi-Private & Private Classes
- Group Class (4-6 Divers): $400.00 per individual.
- Semi-Private Class (2-3 Divers): $600.00 per individual.
- Private Class (ONLY 1 Diver): $750.00 for only ONE person per class.
- Note: We attempt to pair up students so there is minimum of 2 students per class (Semi Private Rate)…….however, if we can’t do that due to scheduling conflicts, and there is only one student in the course, then it will be a Private Rate.
- For Boat Diving/Wreck Diving Specialties, additional costs apply. Student pays for their own ticket, as well as 1/2 the cost of the Instructor's Boat Ticket.
Duration (Approximately 10-15 hours. This does not include independent study)
- Knowledge Development: Consists of Independent Study, and Knowledge Reviews.
- Open Water: Consists of five Ocean dives. The duration of these five dives takes approximately 2-3 individual days. The days can be consecutive back to back days, or over the course of a few of weeks, depending on scheduling and/or diving conditions.
Private, Semi-Private and Group Classes
- Private Classes: 1 Scuba Diver.
- Semi-Private Classes: From 2 to 3 Scuba Divers.
- Group Classes: From 4 to 6 Scuba Divers.
Class Locations
- Open Water (Location depends on ocean conditions).
- La Jolla Shores, San Diego California.
- La Jolla Cove, San Diego California.
- Mission Point Park, San Diego California.
Advance Booking Required
- 7 Days in advance.
Payment Requirements
- Full Payment is required before the scheduled course. We will give priority to the student(s) on a first come (or pay), first serve basis. So whoever pays first will get scheduled on the requested dates.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
- Classes are fully refundable 72 hours prior to the class start date.
- Classes cancelled within 72 hours of the class start date will incur a $300 dollar fee.
- Classes rescheduled by the student within 72 hours of the class start date will incur a $200 dollar fee.
There are NO REFUNDS if:
- The class has begun.
- Client(s) decide to cancel or quit BEFORE the course is entirely completed. We will give you a referral form on what was completed up until the time of cancellation.
- Client(s) do not show up to the dive appointment without any proper notice.
