Divemaster Course

The Padi Divemaster Course is the first step to becoming a professional diver. Being a professional diver means that you actually get paid for diving services rendered. Some common examples of the work that Divemasters are authorized to do are:


  • Work at local dive centers as Scuba/Snorkeling Tour Guides, and assisting PADI Instructors with  students.
  • Travel abroad and work on live-aboard dive boats, yachts and also at exotic resort locations.
  • Lead Scuba Divers on guided dive tours.
  • Teach and certify PADI Skin Divers.
  • Conduct Discover Snorkeling programs.
  • Conduct the Discover Local Diving experience.
  • Conduct PADI Scuba Review programs.
  • Teach Emergency First Response programs after successful completion of an Emergency First Response Instructor course.

The PADI Divemaster Course consists of Several Parts

  1.  Knowledge Development:

  • Knowledge Reviews.
  • Quizzes and Final Exam.
  • RDP Table and eRDPml.
  • Emergency Assistance Plan.

 

2.  Water skills Development.

  •  Swim Tests  (Timed).
  • Diver Rescue.
  • 24 Dive Skills.


3.   Practical Application.

  • Dive Set Up and Management.
  • Mapping Project.
  • Dive Briefing.
  • Search and Recovery Scenario.
  • Deep Dive Scenario.
  • Divemaster - Conducted Programs Workshops which includes the Reactivate Program, Skin Diver course and Snorkeling, Discover Scuba Diving Program, and Discover Local Diving in Open Water.
  • Practical Assessments which includes managing Open Water Students in Confined, and Open Water, just to name a few.

Course Prerequisites

  • Certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI Rescue Diver (or qualifying certifications).
  • 18 years old or older.
  • Logged 40 scuba dives.
  • Completed EFR Primary and Secondary Care training within 24 months.
  • Medically evaluated and cleared for diving by a physician within 12 months.

What Is Included, and How Many Students in Each Class

The Divemaster Course includes All Rental Gear, Pool Costs, Tank Refills, Log Book, and Certification Card.


Group Classes, (up to 8 Students), and Private Classes, (Only 1 Student). The Private Classes are for people that desire to be taught privately without anyone else in their class.


Note 1: For our customers that are coming to us as individuals, and do not necessarily desire to be in an individual “Private Class”: We will always try and pair you up with other divers to constitute a "Group Class". But If we do not have enough people to make up a “Group Class”, then we must offer you a “Private Class” at the "Private Class" Rate. This will be discussed with you before you pay for the course.


Note 2: Study Materials are not included in the price. 

Cost

  • Group Classes, (up to 8 Students): $850.00 per individual.
  • Private Classes, (Only 1 Student): $1,450.00 for only one individual per class. The Private Classes are for people that desire to be taught privately without anyone else in their class.

Duration

The duration of the divemaster course takes anywhere between two weeks to two months depending on whether or not the student’s commitment is full time or part time.

Class Locations

  • Confined Water (Pool Sessions).
  • Open Water (Location depends on ocean conditions):
    • La Jolla Shores, San Diego California.
    • La Jolla Cove, San Diego  California.
    • Marine Room, La Jolla, California.
    • Mission Point Park, San Diego California. 

Payment Requirements

  • Full Payment is required before the scheduled course. We will give priority to the student(s) on a first come (or pay), first serve basis. So whoever pays first will get scheduled on the requested dates.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • Classes are fully refundable 72 hours prior to the class start date.
  • Classes cancelled within 72 hours of the class start date will incur a $300 dollar fee.
  • Classes rescheduled by the student within 72 hours of the class start date will incur a $200 dollar fee.


There are NO REFUNDS if:


  • The class has begun.
  • Client(s) decide to cancel or quit BEFORE the course is entirely completed. We will give you a referral form on what was completed up until the time of cancellation.
  • Client(s) do not show up to the dive appointment without any proper notice.
