Seasonal Spiny Lobster Diving Tour

Join us for a spiny lobster diving tour in San Diego with a certified guide.

Your 2025-2026 spiny lobster season is from Friday, September 26, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. and runs through Wednesday, March 20, 2026, at 11:59:59 p.m.

You can catch up to 7 spiny lobsters per day according to California Spiny Lobster Hunting Regulations. We will show you where the California spiny lobsters congregate and the best time of day to catch them. You will need a fishing license (either a one-day or an annual license), as well as a lobster report card, which can be purchased at any sporting store. Scuba adventures last approximately 2 hours for a 1-tank tour and 4 hours for a 2-tank tour. Monday thru Sunday, spiny lobster tours begin about 2 hours before morning twilight (dawn) since that is when the spiny lobsters are out in the open, feeding. All gear is included. Gear includes head-to-toe scuba gear, a dive bag, a lobster gauge, and a flashlight.

Special Note: Although we have always had success catching spiny lobsters with and for our customers, there are no guarantees that you will catch spiny lobsters due to their capricious nature in moving to different locations and their decreasing population over the spiny lobster season period.

What Is The Cost?

The cost of the Spiny Lobster Diving Tour is only $180.00 per person for a one tank lobster dive, and $250.00 per person for a two tank dive. (All or partial Scuba Gear will be included at NO EXTRA CHARGE if needed by the customer).

What Days Are The Spiny Lobster Diving Tours Available?

Monday thru Sunday Spiny Lobster tours begin about 2 hours before morning twilight (dawn) since that is when the lobsters are out in the open feeding.

For Individuals and Small Groups

You can schedule a spiny lobster scuba diving tour as an individual or a small group of up to four divers.

What We Provide

We provide a certified guide. ALL DIVING GEAR INCLUDED.

What We Need From You

Proof of diving certification for all divers.
Complete the form "San Diego Scuba Pros Dive Tours—Required Information" below.
Book and pay for your dive tour.
After the above is accomplished, we will email to you for completion and signatures: "Tours Necessary Documents" (this is a simple process that will all be done online).

ALL SCUBA DIVING TOURS ARE PAID FOR IN ADVANCE.

Payment Requirements

Full Payment is required a minimum of 2 days before the scheduled dive. If a dive is requested within 1 day before the scheduled date of the dive, then we will charge a small fee of $30.00.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellations made at least three days (72 hours) in advance of the scheduled dive tour will receive a full refund.
Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled dive tour will receive a 50% refund.
Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled dive tour will not be eligible for a refund.
No refund will be issued if the client fails to show up to the dive tour.
No refund will be issued if the client chooses not to participate in the second dive tour for the day.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, especially if they are disrespectful, causing a disturbance, or disrupting the experience for other customers and employees at any time before or during the dive.
San Diego Scuba Pros will reschedule your dive tour at no additional cost if weather conditions are not suitable for safe diving.

Partial refunds and/or rescheduling options may be available. Cancellation fees may also apply, depending on the nature and severity of the event.
