Rescue Diver Course

Rescue Diver Course

Are you ready to take the next step in making a difference in the life of another human being? If so, then the Rescue Diver Course is for you. It is by far the most rewarding and challenging diving course you will ever take. This is because you are learning and mastering the proper techniques of how to save lives, both in and out of the water. The Rescue Diver learns how to prevent emergencies before they happen, by being cognizant of their surroundings. The Rescue Diver also learns how to recognize, manage and perform the necessary steps to save lives in the event that an emergency does happen.

The Rescue Diver Course consists of two parts:

  1. Knowledge Development & Tests: The Rescue Diver Course teaches the necessary principles and skills for Rescue Diving using Independent Study, Knowledge Reviews and Exams.
  2. Rescue Exercises (Open Water): Consists of a Self Rescue Review, 10 Open Water Exercises and 2 Rescue Scenarios over the course of 2 individual days. (Note: These 2 days can be consecutive days, or over the course of a few weeks depending on scheduling and/or diving conditions).

Basic Requirements

  • Open Water Diver Certification (a qualifying certification from such internationally recognised organizaions such as SSI, NAUI, etc.).
  • Minimum age: 15 years of age, (12 years of age for Junior Advanced Open Water Diver).
  • EFR Primary and Secondary Care training within 24 months.  Training may be completed along with rescue diver course.

What Is Included. How Many People.

  • The Rescue Diver Certification Course includes All Rentals, Certification Card (PIC).
  • Classes are held in small groups (usually not more than 3-4 students per instructor).
  • Private Classes, (1-2 students), are available to fit your schedule.  Rates are slightly more.
  • Note: Study Materials are not included in the price.  

Cost for Group & Private Classes

  • Group Class (3-4 Divers):  $400.00 per individual, (All Inclusive: No Hidden Costs).
  • Private Class (1-2 Divers):  $600.00 per individual, (All Inclusive: No Hidden Costs).

Duration (Approximately 10-15 hours. This does not include independent study)

  • Knowledge Development: Consists of Independent Study, Knowledge Reviews, and Exams.
  • Open Water Rescue Exercises: The duration of these Rescue Exercises takes approximately 2 individual days.  (Note: These 2 days can be consecutive days, or over the course of a few weeks depending on scheduling and/or diving conditions).

Private and Group Classes

  • Private Class:  From 1 to 2 Scuba Divers.
  • Group:  From 3 to 4 Scuba Divers.

Class Locations

  • Open Water (Location depends on ocean conditions):
    • La Jolla Shores, San Diego California.
    • Mission Point Park, San Diego California.

Advance Booking Required

  • 7 Days in advance.

Payment Requirements

  • Full Payment is required before the scheduled course. We will give priority to the student(s) on a first come (or pay), first serve basis. So whoever pays first will get scheduled on the requested dates. 

Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • Classes are fully refundable 72 hours prior to the class start date.
  • Classes cancelled within 72 hours of the class start date will incur a $300 dollar fee.
  • Classes rescheduled by the student within 72 hours of the class start date will incur a $200 dollar fee.


There are NO REFUNDS if:


  • The class has begun.
  • Client(s) decide to cancel or quit BEFORE the course is entirely completed. We will give you a referral form on what was completed up until the time of cancellation.
  • Client(s) do not show up to the dive appointment without any proper notice.
